SEX IN LONG MARRIAGE\\

We, who used to strive for communication,\\
are now content with fornication; we,\\
who used to strive to make our pleasure more\\
and greater--the Kamasutra's illustrations,\\
Dr. Ruth's injunctions; toys and lotions,\\
the emancipated clitoral orgasm\\
which, like the new VCR, came with instructions;\\
forbidden locales; novel positions--have come\\
at length to like the one way we like best\\
best again, and, parting tacky torsos,\\
lift our bums across the wet spot love\\
has made and turn to sleep. So much for fashion.\\
As if a sucking babe would get more fun\\
from a tit dyed blue or rubbed with Tiger Balm.\\
